Showing the distribution of cheeses throughout Europe, this map gives a rough estimate of where the many differnt types of cheeses are produced in certain areas of the following European countries.

Showing where certain cheeses and their production areas in Italy. Notice the harder cheeses that come from the Southern areas of the country, where refridgeration is lacking.

The country of Switzerland is known for many things, cheese being one of them. The famous Greuyere cheese is produced in the mountainous regions of the country, far from the cities of Zurich and Geneve.

The French may be famous for their language of love, but the cheese is also something to be appreciated. Notice the cheeses produced mostly have a rind, which is made to help keep out moisture.

England's language is synonymous throughout the world, the cheese should also be as well known. Cheddar, for instance, is one of the world's most famous cheeses, produced by fresh milk and stored in the same caves since the Middle Ages.
